I have seen hundreds, thousands of landing pages offering the “secret” to making a gazillion dollars in 2 days while watching TV and eating bon bons on the couch. I am not here to burst your bubble. Life is built on hopes and dreams, and by all means, I am not here to be cynical.

*Reading every trade journal that pertains to your industry

*Watch what and how your competition is marketing themselves

*Have Discipline

*Staying abreast on marketing trends

*Read relevant blogs pertaining to social media trends and subjects

*Be and remain persistence

*Consistency

*Planning

*Patience~Ah yes, this is where some zen comes in

*Putting your knowledge into action

* Be authentic to yourself and in your message to your audience.

And here’s some more zen. Know your limitations, give yourself the time and space to learn, and slowly stretch beyond those limitations. Account for setbacks. Account for failed marketing strategies. Know that there isn’t a magic bullet and that is going to drive thousands of leads to your door (well maybe if you’re offering a groupon like deal-which we will talk about at a later date of the pros and cons). It is a combined effort of a media mix. And stick with basics until you build up the technology tolerance.
